Loodusõhtu Rahvusraamatukogus

Heimaey - Põhja Pompei



Meenutame, et veidi rohkem kui 35 aastat tagasi, 23. jaanuaril 1973, algas Islandi lõunaranniku lähistel Vestmanni saarestiku peasaarel Heimaeyl vulkaanipurse. Saare 5000 elanikku suudeti evakueerida Islandile. Kohalikud ja vabatahtlikud mandrilt võitlesid aga majade, vara ja eriti sadama säilimise eest vulkaaniga kuni suveni. Autorite lahkel loal vaatame dokumentaalfilmi “Purustuste päevad” (Days of Destruction). Näha saab ka läinud suvel Heimaeyl tehtud fotosid.

Filmi tõlgib ja fotosid kommenteerib loodus- ja reisiajakirjanik Toomas Jüriado.

Laulavad õed Anu ja Triinu Taul.
